Our trip will begin on Thursday morning as we start the drive down to Orlando. We'll see how far we get and either snag a hotel room on side of I-95 or get to Orlando and try to grab a Value Resort room last minute.
On Friday we check into Port Orleans-French Quarter for two nights. During our last trip we spent two nights at Port Orleans- Riverside. One night on our way back from the parks we got off at French Quarter to walk back to Riverside and absolutely loved the vibe. Jazz music, the New Orleans feel-- we loved it all. So this trip we thought we'd give the French Quarter a try.
On Sunday night we'll have over to Animal Kingdom Villas- Jambo House for a six night stay in a one-bedroom villa. Jambo is our "home resort" for the Disney Vacation Club and we absolutely love the place. We'll be staying in the "Value" category room. If you aren't aware of the designation those rooms are not as wide as the regular villa rooms (by 3 feet). Basically Jambo was initially a regular resort with a few floors converted to DVC. In the conversion some rooms came out oddly shaped and they were therefore classified "Value". Nice thing is all of these rooms are either savanna or pool views. This means for significantly fewer points you've got a good chance of waking up to animals outside your balcony every morning!
So this trip we will be doing a few new things we have not done before. First, due to all the talk of sit down restaurants in the Disney Twitterverse, along with my big winnings from my last trip to Atlantic City, we've got a few reservations for meals this trip. We'll be trying Cape May Cafe for breakfast and O'Hana, Whispering Canyon and Tony's Town Square for dinner. We'll do a review of each after we eat.
We also purchased the Premium Annual Pass this year, so we'll be hitting Disney Quest and the water parks a lot... Things not in our normal routine.
Finally, my lovely bride is going to get some mommy time at Saratoga Springs Spa. And I may get in a little bit of golf as well.
